Kristina and Euan celebrated the wedding of their friends when they first heard about me and saw us taking photographs. I was delighted when they booked us for their wedding in June 2018 and the photo-taking started quickly - with their dog daisy featuring on the "Save the dates" (scroll down to see a photo of their amazing stationery).
We then met up again in late autumn for a pre-wedding photo session at Prestonfield and explored the grounds together and took lots of photos. This was a first sign that I would be taking way over my average number of photographs on their wedding day! The couple are so much fun to be with and love the camera!
They booked my husband Mo as their second photographer - but only for 2 hours in the morning to take some photographs of the guys getting ready until the start of the ceremony. The rest of the day, I was in my clicking-happy-space.
I love love love Kristina and Euan's colours chosen for their wedding. The soft teal hues mixed with the pink colours of the bridesmaids' dresses, just a perfect combination.
The couple had amazing weather on their wedding day - in the middle of Scotland's longest spell of summer this year! A warm and sunny day for the reception to be on the lawn outside the venue.
Kristina and the girls arrived in classic cars, and the ceremony took place in the cute marquee at Prestonfield, beautifully decorated by all the helpers and finishing touches put on just before the ceremony. Bagpipes and an Indian Dhol drum was playing when the guests made their way into the marquee, and Kristina walked down the aisle to her friend singing "Kiss me" (originally by Sixpence none the richer) - a perfect entrance.
After the ceremony, there was plenty of time for all the guests chatting and enjoying the amazing Prestonfield canapés and champagne on the lawn before everyone was called in for the start of the wedding breakfast in the stables building. The speeches by the groom, best man and father of the bride were funny as well as memorable, with Kristina's dad citing the words of Heartland's song "I loved her first":
"But I loved her first,
I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep."
A fantastic day with a fantastic couple!
